Spending the last few weeks travelling the west coast of WA has got me all exciting about travel. For me there is nothing better than a hit of seclusion, a good book to get lost in and a beautiful surrounding. Travel has long been a part of our journey and over the years we have done it many different ways from boutique B&B’s in small French towns through to free camping in undeniably picturesque remote areas across Australia.
I can get carried away by the wistful feeling that a good getaway can provide, refreshing the mind and body whilst also filling the emotional connectedness to another when travelling with someone.
Architecture undoubtedly plays an important role in connecting people with place and evoking feelings through materiality, light and space - something we have been obsessing over for a while now as we plan to create our own Stealth Hideway.
With that in mind, I thought I’d do a round up of a few places that are on our HIT LIST where we could easily while away the hours and get refreshed and inspired in these amazing spaces…
#01: MALDHI, EYRE PENINSULA SA
Rugged ocean, coastal cliffs, ultimate wilderness. This newly built cabin is one of two off grid stays on the epic coast line of the Eyre Peninsula SA. With a light footprint and eco credentials this is one experience that will restore the soul and still the mind.
#02: STILLWOOD RETREAT, DENMARK WA

A newly renovated shed in Denmark has been bough to life by Architecture & Interiors mavericks Studio Atelier, they have put so much personality into this hideaway (cue outdoor bath) that will leave you refreshed and inspired.
#03: PETIT ECO CABIN, YALLINGUP WA
Set in our own back yard the clever guys behind Windows Estate Wines have built a beautiful hideaway set on their certified organic vineyard. The attention to detail and craftsmanship that has gone into this luxurious adults only hideaway cannot be missed. Note - this place is booked out solid so plan ahead if you want to experience this or check their insta stories for last minute cancellations.
#04: THE RANGE AT DOVECOTE, GERRINGONG NSW
The view will leave you breathless... The Range is an intimate getaway set on Dovecoat's prestigious grounds. Taking cues from a modern farm shed this is architecture luxury on another level overlooking the beautiful Werri Beach near Gerringong, two hours south Sydney. Want a private chef, spa treatment? No problem Dovecoat's concierge can tailor many experiences for you.
#05: ROSS FARM CABIN, SOUTH GIPPSLAND VIC
The story behind these guys is amazing, restoring and renovating an Old Dairy. Designed and hand made as much as possible, the accommodation has a paired back yet luxurious aesthetic making it a truly a unique stay.
